Belly dance has greatly changed my life. For the years I have been attending classes, I find a lot of changes to my life. The main aspects are as follows:

My posture has changed from the normal slouching I used to do. I always had felt and heard my bones creaking at every turn or twist that I made. I have a lot of energy now to do more tasks than I had before. It makes me want to get up and do something always, with more positive outlook towards anything i have to do. My confidence has greatly improved in all areas, as a result of which I am now mixing with all groups of people, and I am able to attend more functions with others.

My weight and my stress levels have greatly improved for the better. All my aches and pains, considering my age too, have generally disappeared. I drink more fluids as compared to previous years. I always look forward to the classes to do exercises and to interact with friends. If i have to miss a class for some reason, my body and inner self, feel the 'something missing" feeling. Doing belly dance has indeed opened up in me, the desire to learn to dance other dances too, for which I will be starting in the near future.

Dear Potential Belly Dancer
This is a message from my heart, I want to share with you today – I have been over weight for all my life. Since I can remember I have always been the “plumpy” one among my friends. I am turning 43 this year, and always wanted to do something for “me”. I have been going to gym and played tennis and I have done a lot of other things, to try and find myself. But I can tell you with confidence today, I have found what I have been looking for – BELLY DANCING.

I started Belly Dancing 2 and a half years ago, and never looked back. This is the one thing I look forward to every week. I can not compare Belly Dancing with anything I have ever done. The hour or so that our ladies dance, I totally loose myself and go to another world. It has given my more confidence, more self respect and taught me that a woman’s body is capable of a lot more than we realise. So, if you are still wondering if you should start Belly Dancing or not, I say absolutely!!! There is not one day that I do not enjoy it.

Belly dancing is so much more than just dancing and shaking your hips.

It has helped me in so many ways! The spiritual growth is amazing as it connects me with my inner being and femininity.
I used to have quite a lot of back pain before I started dancing and with all the movement and stretching my back pain has definitely improved a lot and basically disappeared in time.
With a stressed lifestyle the dancing has helped me to cope with day to day life and it is like a form of meditation to keep me sane. Also it is the best exercise ever and great fun.
My self-confidence has also improved so much and I feel more comfortable in my own skin.

Starting Belly Dancing is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I started only with the idea that I wanted to lose weight and get in shape, but it did so much more that that!
Apart from having a lot of fun dancing, it has given me so much confidence. I started seeing myself as a strong, sesual and beautiful woman. I started to love my body for what it is and accepted myself as a person. When I dance I feel free and relaxed.
I used to have a lot of back problems and would stess easily, but since I started dancing my posture has improved a lot and my back problems are gone. I am always relaxed and feeling good when we are done with class. Now I never want classes to be over! I can’t imagine my life without belly dancing anymore!
